Larry Kerr is a seasoned football coach with over 40 years of experience, impacting college athletics and developing young talent. After playing at San Jose State, his coaching career began in 1975 at Saratoga High School where he served as Defensive Coordinator. He advanced to positions at San Jose High School and Pioneer High School before joining San Jose State University as an Inside Linebacker Coach in 1980. From 1983 to 1988, Larry was at Stanford University, contributing to a Gator Bowl appearance. His career took him to Northern Arizona University, where he was the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator, leading the team to a number-one defense in the Big Sky Conference in 1992.

In 1993, he joined Colorado State University as the defensive coordinator, collecting six conference championships and coaching several notable players, including a Jim Thorpe Award winner. He later returned to UCLA from 2003 to 2006, leading the team to significant defensive rankings and bowl victories. Larry's final coaching positions included stints back at Colorado State and at the University of Northern Colorado, where he helped secure the team’s first winning season as a Division I program.

Educationally, Larry earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Physical Education from San Jose State University, where he played football on scholarship. Outside of football, Larry has been married to his wife Tracy for 47 years. They cherish their two married daughters and six grandchildren, rounding out a fulfilling personal life alongside his impressive coaching legacy.

Scott Brown has built a distinguished career in sports as both a player and a coach. He graduated from Del Norte High School in 1970 where he was a four-year starter and received All-American honors. He then attended Adams State University, earning a B.A. in Physical Education in 1974 and an M.A. in 1977. As a college athlete, he was a four-year starter and co-captain, later being inducted into the Adams State University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.

Transitioning to coaching, Coach Brown began his career at Central Catholic High School from 1974 to 1976 before taking on assistant coaching roles at various schools, including Adams State College, Southwest Texas State University, and Duke University. Notably, he served as an Area College Scout for the San Francisco 49ers from 2012 to 2015 and became their assistant coach for the defensive line in 2015-2016.

Coach Brown is married to Pamela Rogers Brown and has two children, along with two grandchildren. His dedication to developing young talent has made him a respected figure in football.

Joe Schobert is a former All-American and Jack Lambert Award-winning Linebacker at the University of Wisconsin.

Following his college career, Coach Schobert had a notable seven-year NFL career with the Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tennessee Titans, accruing a handful of accolades along the way. Some of his more notable accomplishments are making the Pro Bowl with the Cleveland Browns, being in the top five in tackles over three different seasons, including a league-leading season in 2017, and playing in over 100 NFL games.

Coach Schobert has helped coach athletes from the youth level up to NFL Draft prep and works with defensive players, specializing in Linebacker and pass-rush techniques.

Coach McKenzie

Kevin McKenzie is a dedicated football coach and former professional athlete with a distinguished career spanning over two decades. A graduate of Washington State University, Coach McKenzie played a pivotal role in leading the Cougars to a Pac-10 Championship and a Rose Bowl appearance in 1998. His professional playing career includes stints with iconic NFL franchises like the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers. Coach McKenzie also made his mark in the Arena Football League, becoming an Arena Bowl Champion with John Elway’s Colorado Crush and contributing to the success of the San Jose Sabercats and Arizona Rattlers.

Leveraging his elite playing experience, Coach McKenzie has emerged as an impactful coach with a proven track record of developing athletes and crafting championship-level teams. He is currently the safeties coach for Cherry Creek High School, where he was an integral part of the 5A Colorado State Championship coaching staff for the 2024-25 season.

Known for his innovative defensive strategies and commitment to player development, Coach McKenzie’s coaching philosophy revolves around three core principles: speed, strength, and precision. His dedication to mastering fundamentals and building confidence in his athletes has established him as a respected leader in the football community.

Det Betti is an accomplished offensive line coach with a rich coaching history that spans several years and various institutions. He attended Albion High School in Albion, New York before pursuing further education at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Coach Betti's coaching career began in 1997 at his alma mater Albion, NY, where he laid the groundwork for his future as a football coach.

Coach Betti then moved to Colorado and coached at Nederland High School in 1999, followed by a successful stint at Chatfield High School from 2000 to 2002, winning a state championship in 2001. He joined Mullen High School in 2003, where he was a part of a four-time state championship program through 2011.

Since 2012, Coach Betti has been making significant contributions as the offensive line coach at Cherry Creek High School, winning six more state championships while continuing his commitment to excellence in coaching and player development.

Coach Walker

James Walker is a prominent running backs coach known for developing some of Colorado's top rushers. He graduated from South High School in Denver, Colorado before attending Colorado Mesa College in Grand Junction.

His coaching career began at Denver South High School from 1999 to 2000, before joining the staff at Chatfield High School from 2000 to 2002, where he coached Colorado legend LenDale White and won a state championship in 2001. Coach Walker joined Mullen High School in 2003, where he was a part of a four-time state championship program and coached top rushers like Maurice Greer, Adonis Ameen-Moore, and Josh Ford.

In 2012, Coach Walker moved to Cherry Creek High School, where he has added six more state championships to his resume while continuing to develop some of the top rushers in Colorado.

Ty Young is the wide receivers coach at Mile High Prep and an assistant coach at Valor Christian High School. The Aurora, Colorado native graduated from Mullen High School as a state champion before playing at the Colorado School of Mines under coach Bob Stitt.

During his collegiate career, Coach Young ranked among the top five in receiving yards and touchdowns and was a two-time RMAC champion. He earned All-RMAC honors three times and was selected for the National Bowl All-Star game in 2016. His coaching philosophy focuses on technique, discipline, and a deep understanding of the wide receiver position.

Dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential, Coach Young brings a passion for the game and a commitment to developing the next generation of football talent.

JAY MADDEN

DEFENSIVE TACKLES

Jay Madden has been a Head High School Football Coach in Colorado for 30 years, with 27 Playoff appearances. He spent 17 years at Pomona High School where they have made multiple State Championship appearances and won the title in 2017. He was also the head coach at Mullen HS, Legacy HS, and is the new head coach at Thunder Ridge HS.

Coach Madden has been the Head Sprint Coach at four Jefferson County High Schools in his tenure, as well as coaching Girls Basketball and Softball. He has also been coaching speed and agility camps and weightlifting camps since starting Eagle Speed and Agility Camp in 1996.

He loves watching kids of all ages improve, become better athletes, and have fun!

Coach Lindell

ADAM LINDELL

As a 2011 graduate of Arapaho High School in Centennial, CO, Adam Lindell was a three-year letter winner and starter, two-time all-conference pick, and rushed for 1,066 yards and 14 touchdowns during his senior season. In college, he played baseball and football where he was a two-time all-conference baseball player and honorable mention all-conference senior year in football.

After eight years of coaching all skill positions for high school football in Colorado, he is currently the Offensive Coordinator at Chatfield High School. His passion in coaching is to help kids become the best versions of themselves as both athletes and people. The goal is when they leave Mile High Prep, they have the tools and skill set to succeed in college at their given position, as well as the life skills to succeed in being great men, husbands, and fathers.

Coach Herrera

JOE HERRERA

OFFENSIVE LINE & SPECIAL TEAMs COORDINATOR

With 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and NCAA levels, Coach Joe Herrera brings knowledge and leadership to the field. He is the Special Teams Coordinator at Cherry Creek High School, one of Colorado’s premier football programs. He has played a pivotal role in developing athletes as an offensive line coach at Columbine, Arapahoe, and Valor Christian. At the collegiate level, he has coached tight ends at Adams State University and served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Colorado School of Mines.

A graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, Coach Herrera began his coaching journey there following his playing career.

Off the field, Coach Herrera is a devoted husband to his wife, Nicole, and a proud father of four. He currently teaches Physical Education at Cherry Creek High School, where he continues to inspire and mentor students daily.
